A few days ago, rumours came up that the Greek broadcaster ERT wanted to quit with the selection format EuroStar. It is said that ERT ise in negotiations with a famous Greek
artist to represent athe country at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest. On a Greek malining list people reffered to Sakis Rouvas, who denied all rumours.
ERT officially confirmed that EuroStar will not becancelled and the selection for the Eurovision Song Contest will definitely takes place on 17th March, as scheduled in the Kappa Studios in Spata. Probably next week, 12th March, one out of three performers will be chosen to perform three songs in the final.
The contracts of the EuroStar candidates say that ERT and Freemantle Media reserve the right to cancel and/or alter the Greek Eurovision Song Contest participant if they feel the need to.
Sakis Rouvas, a famous Greek artist, said in past interviews on MAD TV and STAR Channel that he loved to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest. It's most likely that this quote caused the rumours about Rouvas' possible participation this year.
