TMC will broadcast the casting of the Monacan participant for the Eurovision Song Contest on Friday 19th March from 00.40 CET on. Sixteen year-old Maryon came out as winner and will sing Notre Planète at the qualification round of the Eurovision Song Contest on 12th May in Istanbul.

More than 500 female singers reacted on the appeal by Monacan broadcaster TMC for candidates to represent Monaco at the Eurovision Song Contest. On 21st February, 21 were left, then 4, then 2, untill the final verdict: Sixteen year-old Maryon from Seyne sur Mer was elected by a jury to represent Monaco at the 49th Eurovision Song Contest.

Maryon will sing Notre Planète, composed by Philippe Bosco. Like the title indicates, the song is about the protection of nature and sea, an important theme for Prince Albert of Monaco, who just revised the Pact of Ramoge (signed in 1976) in order to protect the Mediterranean Sea.
