Some discerning passages in the lyrics to Rich white Man, the entry of song.null.vier participants 5 in Love (pictured above) caused the raise of an eyebrow or two at Austrian broadcaster ORF. For a while, they thought about asking the band to change the lyrics or to disqualify them, as Tim Lange of ORF told news.at.

The song criticises, amongst other things, the catholic church's attitude towards abortion. After careful consideration, ORF now decided to let the song pass. “We are glad that ORF did not decide against us and our text. We stand behind it and it is our special concern to point out the grievances of this world”, the band commented.

Meanwhile, another band participating in this year's Austrian final has to cope with a partial split. Isa Sabani left the band Tie Break, leaving Stefan di Bernardo, Thomas Elzenbaumer – which both came to fame through casting show Starmaniac – and Tommy Pelgram behind. Nonetheless, Tie Break will take part in song.null.vier on 5 March.
