For the first time in history, three Belgians will perform at one and the same Eurovision Song Contest, representing three different countries. Xandee for Belgium, Jonatan Cerrada for France and Fabrizio Penessi (Re-union) for the Netherlands, will offer Belgium a triple chance for victory.
Belgium will be represented three times this year at the Eurovision Song Contest. Besides the belgian song 1 Life sung by Xandee, also France and the Netherlands will be represented by Belgians.
Jonatan Cerrada (18) will represent France with A chaque pas, a ballad of which he wrote the lyrics himself. Jonatan, who has spanish roots, was born in Liège, a city in the Walloon part of Belgium.
Fabrizio Penessi (24) moved at the age of 13 from Italy to Maasmechelen, a village in the Flemish part of Belgium. Together with Dutchman Paul Corté he forms Re-union, who will perform Without you for the Netherlands in Istanbul.
Both Xandee and Re-union are expected Thursday morning at the radio show Donna staat op!, between 6 and 9, on Flemish radio station Radio Donna.
