The website of PBSBiH, the public broadcaster of Bosnia & Herzegovina, mentions that Deen is going to represent the country at the 49th Eurovision Song Contest. Earlier, rumours said that Deen was already selected internally, but these rumours were denied. Later, PBSBiH started an open search for talent.

Deen, who's real name is Fuad Backovic, was the lead singer of the boyband Seven Up who came third in the Bosnian national final of 1999. Deen ended 7th in the national final of 2001 and 2nd in Bosnia's latest national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003.

The 21-year old singer was born in Sarajevo and studied at the Faculty of Economy there. George Michael and former Eurovision Song Contest winner Céline Dion belong to his most favorite artists.

Deen released five albums already and is currently doing an anti-drugs campaign: “I appeal to all precious, fine and young people in the world to find a meaning of their lives in love, nice music and books; to leave aside drugs and everything harmful that can destroy our dreams and cause a tragedy”, he wrote at his official website.

Now the Eurosong 2004 website of PBSBiH mentions Deen as representative, it is sure he will go to Istanbul. A selection committee, in which former Eurovision participants Vesna and Mija Martina Barbarić seated, selected Deen with the marjority of the votes (check out the voting here). He will sing several songs somewhere next month, the audience will select his Eurovision entry.
