Saturday, the second heat of the Lithuanian Eurovision Song Contest selection took place. Again, nine songs compted in Eurovizijos dainų konkursas 2004.
Out of 70 entries, broadcaster LT selected 54 (!) songs for six semifinals, of which the first will take place tonight. The 18 songs – three per semifinal – with the highest scores in the qualifying rounds will participate in the national selection final that will take place in Kaunas on 14th February 2004. The song that will represent Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 will be selected by 50% of public vote and 50% of the commission formed by LT.
The first three will proceed to the final. Very strange is the fact that number two scored less points than number three, but this is the final result LRT provided us with:
1. MANTAS with 784 points
2. TAJA IR MERLIN with 304 points
3. LAWRY with 333 points
4. COLDER with 290 points
5. ARTIS IR BUGS BAND with 191 points
6. IEVA BREIVYTĖ with 174 points
7. ROAD BAND with 147 points
8. GRAFFITI with 45 points
9. AUDRONĖ GIRKONTAITĖ with 22 points
KES, Ruta and Relanium won the first heat, which took place last week. The overall opinions about the songs and the show were not very positive.
