Charlotte Perrelli and Gina Dirawi are joining forces to pay tribute to pop divas. SVT’s press relase reads:
On Saturday, Charlotte Perrelli steps onto the Mello stage together with Gina Dirawi to offer a lesson in schlager diva. In a cheeky and powerful number, she pays tribute to the women who, with their iconic style, fans and key changes, have shaped Melodifestivalen throughout the years – and who at the same time show the way for anyone who dreams of becoming a Mello Baddie.
Gina Dirawi says:
I grew up with the schlager divas as my school. Women in glitter who took their place, broke the law of the jante and were both loved and questioned. This number is about embracing your inner Mello Baddie. The song was written by me and Jonas Jurström, and the goal is simple – that everyone who watches will leave there newly trained in Mello Baddie. To be able to do it together with Charlotte is a declaration of love for the energy that has made Melodifestivalen so iconic.
Charlotte Perrelli says:
Being a Mello Baddie is about taking a seat, owning the room and enjoying the chaos. If someone thinks it’s too much – then you’re doing it right. Gina has exactly the right combination of humor, sharpness and zero respect for rules – which makes her the perfect partner on the Melodifestivalen stage. It’s so much fun that we get to do this together again.
The Second Semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2026 is scheduled to be held at the Scandinavium in Gothenburg tomorrow where a total of 6 acts will battle for two spots in the Grand Final.
