Eurovision 2022 hostess and internationally acclaimed Italian superstar, Laura Pausini has released ‘La Dernier Chanson‘ along with Julien Vieb. The song is the French version of Marco Mengoni‘s Sarenmo 2023 winning entry/ Eurovision 2023 enry ‘Due Vite’.

Marco represented Italy at the ESC 2023 with ‘Due Vite’ achieving an honorable 4th place in the Grand Final in Liverpool. He went on to release the song in French- ‘La Derniere Chanson’.

Laura Pausini says:

When Marco Mengoni sang “Due Vite” at the Sanremo Festival in 2023, I immediately felt it was an important, timeless song. Its writing truly represents contemporary Italian pop music, and I loved the idea of also including more modern tributes on the album.

Marco is an Italian singer-songwriter whom I deeply admire for his voice, his vision, his lyrics, and his personality, so I had known for a long time that, sooner or later, I would sing one of his songs. During my musical exploration of his catalogue, one day I came across this French version.

Now Laura Pausini has joined forces with Julien Lieb and released the cover version of ‘La Dernier Chanson’.

Laura Pausini continues:

At that very moment, I was discovering Julien’s music, so I got in touch with him and we promised each other that sooner or later we would collaborate on something special. In reality, it was already written in destiny, because when I found out that Julien is also a fan of Marco’s music, I thought he was the perfect artist to pay tribute to him.

‘La Derniere Chanson’ will be featuring in her upcoming new album, IO CANTO 2, where she pays tributes to Italian artists.
