SMRTV, the Sammarinese national broadcaster has confirmed the dates for the upcoming edition of the San Marino Song Contest.

The San Marino Song Contest 2026 is scheduled to be held on 3rd, 4th and 7th March:

  • 03/03/2026- Semi-final #1
  • 04/03/2026-Semi-final #2
  • 07/03/2026-Grand Final

The San Marino Song Contest will be broadcast live on SMRTV.

The Grand Final of the San Marino Song Contest 2026 is scheduled to be held on Saturday 7th March at the Teatro Nuovo Dogana in San Marino.

20 acts will compete in each of the semi-finals, the top 10 acts from the semi-finals will proceed to the Grand Final. The Grand Final of the San Marino Song Contest 2026 will feature the 10 emerging acts from the semi-finals along with 10 established acts. Hence a  total of 20 acts will battle for the coveted golden ticket to Eurovision 2026 at the Grand Final.

SMRTV’s official press release reads:

The final will be on Saturday 7 March 2026 , at the Teatro Nuovo in Dogana (Republic of San Marino) and broadcast live on San Marino RTV , channel 550 and on Radio San Marino .

The artist who will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 , scheduled to take place in Vienna , Austria, from 12 to 16 May , will emerge from the final.

New format: the new edition of the San Marino Song Contest will feature, in addition to the final on March 7, two semifinals broadcast live on RTV , on March 3 and 4, 2026 , mirroring the Eurovision model. Each semifinal will feature 20 contestants from the “Dreaming San Marino Song Contest ,” the selection process organized by Media Evolution, a preparatory stage for the final stages of the contest, which will provide access to the ESC in Vienna.

Ten emerging competitors from the two semi-finals will advance to the SMSC final on March 7 , along with ten established contenders.

A winning team doesn’t change: the Artistic Direction of Massimo Bonelli , the direction of Cristiano D’Alisera , the photography of Marco Lucarelli and the scenography of Marco Calzavara have been confirmed , in collaboration with Media Evolution srl and with the patronage of the Secretariat of State for Tourism.
