LTV, the Latvian national broadcaster, has confirmed to ESCToday that Latvia will partake at the forthcoming 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Austria.

Thus Latvia joins the list of countries who have so far confirmed their participation at the upcoming 2026 Eurovision edition in Austria.

Latvia will determine its Eurovision 2026 act and entry via its traditional national selection LTV Supernova. The Latvian national broadcaster has published the rules and regulations for Supernova 2026 and opened the song submission window  for the 2026 Latvian national selection.

The Supernova 2026 Song Submission window is open from 01 August- 01 October 2026. Hereafter a special jury will evaluate all the submitted entries and determine the Supernova 2026 competing acts by November when the names of the artists will be unveiled.

Supernova 2026 is scheduled to be held in January and February 2026 with the exact dates yet to determined. Artists and composers wishing to compete at Supernova 2026 can do so by submtting their applications here.

Latvia at Eurovision

Latvia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000 and has won the competition once in 2002 with Marie N‘s ‘I wanna‘. The Baltic country has participated at Eurovision 25 times and successfully hosted the contest in 2003 in Riga.

In 2025 Tauturmeitas represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel with their epic entry ‘Bur Man Laimi’.
