Denmark’s Eurovision 2025 representative, Sissal, encountered vocal issues just days before the second semi-final on 15 May. The singer sought medical attention in Basel, Switzerland, where this year’s contest is being held.
Sissal reported that a recent cold had affected her vocal cords, prompting a doctor’s visit on Tuesday morning. The examination revealed no inflammation, but some mucus was present. Despite the setback, Sissal remains confident in her ability to perform.
I’m not worried about not being able to deliver the song on Thursday. I always can.
To ensure her recovery, Sissal is minimizing her speaking engagements and focusing on vocal rest. Erik Struve Hansen, program manager for Eurovision at DR, emphasized the importance of supporting Sissal during this time.
Now we create total calm around her and have 100 percent focus on the show.
Denmark’s entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2025, Hallucination by Sissal, is starting 11th tonight at the second semi-final, at 21:00 CET, in Basel, Switzerland.
