Moments after the first semi-final concluded, Cyprus’ representative Theo Evan shared his emotional reaction to missing out on the Eurovision 2025 grand final. The artist expressed gratitude and optimism despite the setback.
Speaking candidly right after the results, Theo Evan opened up to journalists in the Press Center about his feelings:
“Believe it or not, I am deeply moved by everything our team has achieved. We’ve received so much love and many beautiful messages, and that’s what we will hold onto.”
Theo acknowledged the challenges and risks involved in bringing a distinctive genre to Eurovision with his entry, Shh:
“It’s a competition, and we definitely took a risk with this particular track, with the genre of the song. We came with a strong proposal and hoped for even greater acceptance from the audience.”
While clearly disappointed, Theo Evan displayed professionalism and support for Greece’s representative, Klavdia, emphasizing the shared bonds between the two nations:
“It’s alright, we keep going. I wish Greece good luck; Klavdia now represents Cyprus too. I wish you success, let’s smash it and move forward strongly.”
Asked directly about his disappointment, Theo was honest but pragmatic:
“Of course, I am disappointed, it’s natural… it’s a competition after all. Just competing was a risk. We move on, we turn the page.”
Theo Evan’s heartfelt words underline both his dedication to his music and his commitment to maintaining a positive outlook despite the results.
