Tampere is rallying around Erika Vikman as she competes in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, releasing a vibrant video campaign titled ‘Ich komme aus Tampere’ that showcases the city’s spirit and support for their hometown star. The campaign, backed by the City of Tampere and Visit Tampere, features local celebrities dancing to Erika’s entry Ich komme at iconic locations across the city.

In the promotional video, musicians, comedians and actors from Tampere are seen celebrating Erika’s Eurovision journey at well-known spots like the Pispalanharju ridge, Tammerkoski rapids, the floating sauna on Lake Pyhäjärvi and the city’s central square. The aim is to mirror the themes of courage and openness found in Ich komme, while also highlighting Tampere’s progressive, creative identity.

The video, produced by local company Karu Films, is being distributed across social media and displayed in public locations throughout the city.

Tampere brings Eurovision fever to the streets – and to Basel

Beyond the video, the Ich komme aus Tampere campaign is activating the city in multiple ways. Residents, businesses and organisations are encouraged to show their support by using social media templates, the hashtag #IchKommeAusTampere, and tagging @VisitTampereofficial. Fans can also submit Eurovision-themed side events to Tampere’s official event calendar, some of which will be featured on Visit Tampere’s Ich komme aus Tampere website.

During the Eurovision week, Hämeenkatu’s iconic light curtains will glow in Eurovision-themed colours, turning the city centre into a beacon of celebration.

A sauna in Basel – Finland brings heat to Switzerland

Support for Erika and fellow Finland-Swedish act KAJ from Vörå will also be visible in Basel, where a special Finnish Lounge will open near the main Eurovision venues. Organised by the City of Tampere, the Municipality of Vörå and the Finnish Sauna Association, the lounge will feature Finnish design, photo walls and a real sauna – a nod to Tampere’s title as the sauna capital of the world.

The Finnish Lounge will be open from 13 to 17 May, daily from 12:00 to 20:00 CET, with the sauna heated from 13:00 to 19:00 CET. Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to visit the area, making it a high-profile display of Finnish creativity and community.
