Norway’s Kyle Alessandro completed his first Eurovision 2025 rehearsal in Basel on Sunday — but only after taking strong painkillers due to a severe dental infection. Moments after leaving the stage, he was rushed to an emergency dentist.
According to delegation leader Mads Tørklep, Kyle Alessandro was in significant pain throughout the day and struggled to open his mouth before rehearsals began.
He was barely able to open his mouth early today and took strong painkillers to be able to complete the tests.
The dentist diagnosed an acute gum infection and immediately removed a wisdom tooth. Kyle said the pain had started a week earlier but worsened steadily.
I thought it would go away, but today it became unbearable… The rehearsal went well, but afterward the pain came back hard, so we went straight to the dentist.
He has now been advised to rest and avoid singing or physical activity until Wednesday. All scheduled rehearsals and press interviews for Monday and Tuesday have been cancelled.
Despite the ordeal, Kyle’s debut rehearsal of Lighter on the Eurovision stage was a milestone moment for the young artist, who is representing Norway on Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland.
