Basel is buzzing with excitement as it hosts a wide array of official Eurovision events this May. Organised by the EBU (European Broadcasting Union), the Swiss broadcaster SRG, and the city of Basel, fans can enjoy concerts, public viewings, rehearsals and celebrations spread across Eurovision Square, Eurovision Village, and the main show arena.
Basel has prepared an entire week of events, starting 10 May until 17 May. The celebrations start on 10 May with Pop & Soul & Global Day at Eurovision Square and the grand Opening at Eurovision Village. Across the week, music fans can enjoy Jazz Day, Funk & Brass Day, Klassik & Crossover Day, Pop & Karaoke Day, and Hiphop Day, all held at Eurovision Square. Meanwhile, Eurovision Village will host special shows like Diversity Day and 90s Night featuring SNAP!, Rednex and others.
Opening ceremony and live shows
The official Eurovision Opening Ceremony takes place on 11 May at Eurovision Village. The semi-finals and Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest will be shown live in the arena and on big screens at Eurovision Village. Tickets are required for arena rehearsals and live shows, but public viewing events at the village are free with admission checks.
