SRG-SSR, the Swiss national broadcaster, has unveiled the show concept for the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. 

A special media event was held in Basel today organized by the 2025 Eurovision host broadcaster SRG-SSR in order to shed more light on the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Switzerland.

SRG-SSR has unveiled the ESC 2025 show concept during the special media event in Basel.

All three Eurovision shows will feature three different stories and themes all united under the same motto’ Welcome Home’:
Where It All Began’, ‘Eurovision Fans’,’ Let’s Celebrate a New Winner’.

SRG-SSR’s official press release reads:

The ESC 2025 is all about returning to its origins in Switzerland. Each show will tell its own story, united under the motto «Welcome Home»: 

  • Semi-Final 1 (13 May): «Where It All Began» – an homage to the ESC’s birthplace in Switzerland. 
  • Semi-Final 2 (15 May): «Eurovision Fans»– a party for everyone who loves the ESC 
  • Grand Final (17 May): «Let’s Celebrate A New Winner» – 26 countries compete for the coveted glass trophy and the whole of Europe joins in the excitement and celebrations. Great emotions and excitement are guaranteed until the early hours. 

Presenters: Hazel Brugger, Sandra Studer & Michelle Hunziker (only on Saturday) 

The three Eurovision shows are ready! The construction of the Eurovision stage has kicked off at the St.Jakobshalle in Basel, with circa weeks to go for the First ESC 2025 Semi-final. The Swiss national broadcaster intends to take this year’s 37 competing performances to the next level thanks to the versatility of the stage and one of the most cutting edge lighting systems.

Yves Schifferle (Head of Show)  says:

Audiences can expect performances unlike any they’ve seen before on the Eurovision Song Contest. We are transcending creative and technical boundaries, and pushing the envelope in terms of what is actually possible on a live stage.

2025 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on the 13, 15 and 17 May at the St.Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland.
