Once again the 1986 Eurovision Song Contest winner Sandra Kim expresses her discontent with the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Kim, who was 13 when she sang Jaime la vie to victory, warns about the terrible consequences for the children.
Flemish newspaper Het Volk has published an interview with Sandra Caldarone, more known as Sandra Kim, concerning Musicals from the heart in which she stars. Sandra once again takes the opportunity to point out the danger of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
No, its not good. I am against the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Its backward. I know what I'm talking about, Sandra Kim says. Dont steal the childrens youth. Such a contest may look sympathetic, but children have to be able to go to school. When Sandra Kim won the contest, she had to quit school and act like an adult.
Sandra says she is still suffering the consequences of that. OK, I travelled the world, sang with the biggest stars, but I played the adult while being a child. Psychologically, its very tough, and sooner or later you experience the disadvantages of a missed youth.
