Israel: Netta’s ‘Toy’ goes gold in Brazil!

Shalom Israel or should we rather say, Bom Dia Brasil? Eurovision 2018’s triumpher Netta Barzilai is still surfing the wave. It is well known that Eurovision songs and fame go well beyond any European border. But when fame reaches higher spheres of the music industry, magic happens, this is the case for Netta.

She went to Lisbon and brought the trophy home. She conquered the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with astonishing 529 points and well above any other contestant. Netta Barzilai was the fourth Israeli to win Eurovision, and it will definitely not end there.

Gold like victory

As published these days by the Association Pro-Música Brasil, Netta’s single Toy has gone gold in the Brasilian market. This means that she sold at least 500’000 copies in the country. Congratulations! It is not the first time though that Netta reaches succes away from the European continent. In June last year her entire music video was displayed in Times Square in New York, and one month later she performed live on NCBS.

Eurovision 2018

Netta Barzilai won the Israeli national selection HaKokhav HaBa and was selected to represent her home country at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal. After winning the first semi-final on 8 May 2018, she won the contest dueling to the very last point with Cypriot representative Eleni Foureira’s  Fuego. The result: Netta won the contest with an outstanding result in the televote and brought the trophy to Israel for the fourth time after 1978, 1979 and 1998.
