The Slovenian broadcaster RTVSLO launches the new online contest EMA Freš, of which two contestants will compete in the final of EMA 2020. 

RTVSLO recently presented the slightly changed process of the Slovenian national selection, in which two entries will secure a place through a separate online contest, EMA Freš.

The goal of EMA Freš

This year, RTVSLO decided to give room for younger participants that bring a new, fresh air to the national selection. This is why this new seperate contest is open for participants under the age of 26, who have previously released up to three songs or less.  The 18 participants of EMA Freš will compete in duels , starting on 4 November . Six songs will make it to the EMA Freš final, in which another four songs that lost in the process will join. A total of 10 songs will take part in the EMA Freš final.  Two of them will win a place in the final of the EMA 2020 selection of the Slovenian entry in February.

This year’s EMA Freš participants have been selected through a panel of experts (Slovenian social media-stars Maja Pinteric and Rebeka Tomc, Eurovision-expert and journalist Denis Živcec, TV presenter Klemen Kopina and singer and songwriter Bojan Cvjetićanin). These entries are:
