The annual event Balkan Music Awards 2011 took place last week on Alexander I square in the capital of Bulgaria. Many Eurovision stars from the Balkan peninsula attended this huge event, some of them performed, others were awarded.
Aurela Gaçe, maNga, Poli Genova, Sarit Hadad were among the many who attended the occasion. Esma Redzepova, Nobel peace prize nominee and the most successful Balkan artists of all time was the special guest together with the singer Goran Bregovic, the man behind the Serbian entry Ovo je Balkan.
The glamorous Balkan event has been broadcasted in all the Balkan countries.
The world famous singer Inna from Romania won the award for the Best Female Artist and the award for Worldwide Breakthrough. The Turkish singer Serdar Ortac won the award Best Male Artist. Teodora and Giorgos Giannias were awarded for the Best Balkan Project. Andreea Banica won the award Best Video for her song Love in Brazil.
maNga, the Turkish representative at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest won the award for the Best Group. Aurela Gaçe won the award for the Best Albanian song.
Poli Genova performed her Eurovision entry Na Inat and Sarit Hadad performed her new song together with Alisia.
