The Finnish broadcaster YLE has decided to change the format of their national selection method for next year's Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Azerbaijan. An open selection dedicated to everyone who would like to sing in the front of millions of European TV viewers will be organized by YLE with the first heats starting in autumn. More details will be published on their official website in June.

The 2012 Eurovision national finals season will kick-off in autumn when the first heats of the Finnish national selection will take place. YLE decided to change the method of choosing Finland's representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Everyone can start writing a song and get ready for the preliminary selection in autumn.

The first heats will be held in autumn and winter and the selection process will culminate with the grand final taking place in Helsinki. The official rules of the competition will be published on YLE's official website in June.

Paradise Oskar represented Finland at this year's Eurovision Song Contest. The 20-years-old boy from Kirkkonummi managed to qualify from the first semi final and finished 21st of of 25 acts.
