The Turkish newspaper Anadolu Ajansi reports today that the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 will be held on May 15th, 2004. The preliminary round will be held on the Wednesday prior to this date, May 12th. The newspaper also revealed the venue: Mydonose Showland. Neither the Turkish broadcaster TRT nor the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) have confirmed any of these rumours.

The prelimiary round is scheduled on Wednesday in order to simplify the organisation of the big final on Saturday. Starting from Thursday, the whole show can be rehearsed, which makes the eventual broadcasting a lot easier.

The Mydonose Showland venue (at the picture), shaped as three giant canvas tents, is able to accomodate 5.500 spectators.

The official announcement of the date and venue of the 49th Eurovision Song Contest is expected to be given out at the end of this summer.
