Tonight saw Romania start their journey to Eurovision 2019, with the beginning of their competition Selecția Națională, which annually determines the Balkan country’s Eurovision representative. But who are the ones who will keep chasing their Eurovision dream this year?
At the event’s first semi-final which took place in the city of Iaşi, 11 acts performed on stage, but only 6 have made it to the Grand Final, which is set to be held on 17 February in Bucharest. Five of these qualifiers were decided by a 5-member appointed jury consisting of
- Adi Cristescu,
- Mihai Georgescu,
- Crina Mardare,
- Andy Platon and
- Mugurel Vrabete,
while a further one progressed as the most voted by the public. Without further wait, the 6 entries to be seen again in the final are:
- Trooper – Destiny
- Teodora Dinu – Skyscraper
- Dya and Lucian Colareza – Without you (Sin ti)
- Claudiu Mirea – We are the ones
- Bella Santiago – Army of love
- Vaida – Underground (Televoting qualifier, 1825 votes)

- Berniceya – The call: Dynasty of love
- Ommieh and Anakrisez – Rock ths way
- Nicola – Weight of the world
- Steam – The way it goes
- The Four – Song of my heart
Selecția Națională 2019 goes on on 10 February with the second semi-final, which will take place in the city of Arad.
