The visitors of the most popular Greek music website MAD-TV already suggested a group to represent the country at the next Eurovision Song Contest. 44% of 80,000 voters suggested the girl-group HI-5 to go to Istanbul next year.

HI-5 is the result of the popular programme Popstars.

The five girls are followed by Marianta Pieridi (22%), Aspa Tsina (16%), Fiona Tzavara (8%), Notis Hristodoyloy (6%) and Nina Lotsari (0%).

One of the singers of HI-5 is Marlain Angelidou, who represented Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 1999. Although she was tipped as possible winner, she ended 22nd out of 23. The website Eurovision Greece writes that “existong rumors inform us that there are already some thoughts for future attendance of the group in the contest”. Marianta Pieridi participated in 1995 as backing vocal for Greece and recently said that an attendance in the Eurovision Song Contest does not interest her.

It seems that the off-season period of rumours officially started…
