The Ukrainian national broadcaster NTU have officially confirmed that Mika Newton will perform a revamped version of her song Angels in Düsseldorf. This decision was taken in order to avoid another scandal caused by the replacemnent of her originally winning song. Initially, Mika Newton expressed her desire to perform a song written by Walter Afanasieff at the Eurovision Song Contest.

It is now officially confirmed that Mika Newton will perform a revamped version of her original winning song entitled Angels at this year's Eurovision Song Contest. The Ukrainian singer declared during an interview for the Ukrainian newspaper Vysokyi zamok that she decided to do so in order to avoid another scandal caused by the replacement of her winning song.

"I have a lot of new songs written especially for me in America. But why do I need another scandal – this time with the replacement of the song? So we'll work more on "Angel" – to make a better arrangement of the song to be liked by the European audience.", said Mika Newton.

She adds : "If we had millions, we would not be interested in the Eurovision. We would have filmed the expensive video, paid for the rotations in Europe – that is how we would like to achieve popularity in Europe. And now financially ready to support me are not Ukrainians but Americans".

Mika Newton will perform in the second semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.
