Tonight, Ukraine will pick up its Eurovision representative in Düsseldorf. Twenty-one acts will fight for the Ukrainian ticket to the European favourite music competition.

The show

Since October 31st 2010 till November 28th 2010, pre-recorded weekly heats have been aired by the country's national broadcaster (NTU) on 1TV. Twenty-four participants advanced to the semi-final stages of the competition. Three semi-finals were held during December 2010 and eventuallynineteen acts qualified for the big final to be held tonight. The winner will be chosen by a combination of televoting (45%), jury's choice (45%) and SMS voting (10%).

Zlata Ognevich is the first competitor in tonight's show. She performs her up-tempo pop-folk song The Kukushka which was written by Michael Nekrasov who was responsible for the 2006 Ukrainian entry.

Song 03 – Jemchug – Hero

Jemchug are a popular Ukrainian band consisting of two sisters. The girls are wearing fabulous gala outfits trying to remind Europe that the Ukrainian girls are considered the most beautiful girls in the world. Hero is an up-tempo pop song which is nicely performed vocally by the band, although theywere off-key at the beggining of their performance. Overall, this is an average act that shouldn't trouble the top three of tonight's final.

Song 04 – Bahroma – Chernoe more

Bahroma is next on stage. They perform a mid-tempo pop song entitled Chernoe more. The vocal performance is below average marking the first weak act of the Ukrainian national final.

Next song is being performed by Alexey Matias. Myself is a mid-tempo pop track featuring a nice acoustic guitar orchestration. Alexey delivers a mediocre vocal performance.

Song 06 – Jamala – Smile

One of the main favourites of tonight's show is next on stage. Jamala performsher song entitled Smile which was inspired by her Turkish niece. She is joined on stage by three backing vocalists dressed in similar outfits. The vocal performance is at a very high level. Could this act win the Ukrainian ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest 2011?

Song 08 – Alyona Korneeva – Why did I say goodbye

Alyona Korneeva performs next on stage. Her song is called Why did I say goodbye and is one of the favourites of the Ukrainian national final. She is compared by the hosts to Susan Boyle. Alyona delivers a very good vocal performance which seems to be very much appreciated by the public as she receives a loud applause. Why did I say goodbye is an up-tempo pop songs featuring a typical Russian sounding.

Song 09 – Denis Povaliy – Aces high

Denis Povaliy is on stage now performing his song Aces high which was written by a team of Russian songwriters. Thisroutine is described as a funny act as Denis is using a mannequin as a prop on stage. A group of mostly undressed female dancers is present on stage supporting Denis.

Song 10 – El Kravchuck – Moja nadezda

El Kravchuck is a veteran of the Ukrainian show-business. This year he performs his song entitled My hope which is a typical rock ballad you would hear at the Russian radio stations. El Kravchuck is dressed iin a casual way while sings about this world's cruelty. The vocal performance is unimpressive and this act should finnish in the bottom of the scoreboard.

Song 11 – Shanis – Ya tvoja

Shanis already took part in last year's Ukrainian national selection. She tries her luck once again this year by performing her song Ya tvoja which is a contemporany mid-tempo pop song. Shanis is wearing a black outfit and is surrounded on stage by some male dancers dressed in black aswell. Actually, this song seems to be a copy of Mika Newton's song. The vocal performance is at a good level.

Song 12 – Vitalyi Galaj – My expression

Next on stage is Vitalyi Galaj and performs his up-tempo techno-pop song entitled My expression. He is joined on stage by four dancers and a backing vocalist. This is one of the most exciting performances of tonight's show. Vitalyi delivers a very good vocal performance and he is surely standing out of the crowd with this routine.

Song 13 – Mika Newton – Angely

One of the biggest favourites of tonight's show is next on stage. Mika Newton perfoms her pop ballad called Angely in front of the audience. She is wearing a beautiful white dress. A group of male dancers dressed as angels are supporting her stage show. Mika delivers a highly appreciated vocal performance and this could actually win the Ukrainian ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.

Eduard Romanyuta is the youngest performer of tonight's show. He takes the stage and performs his mid-tempo pop song entitled Berega. Eduard is joined on stage by two backing vocalists and two guitar players. The vocal performance is at a decent level.

Song 15 – Tatyana Vorzheva – Vse resheno

Next on stage is Tatyana and she is performing an up-tempo pop-disco song called Vse resheno which features some Arabic traditional elements. This is one of the most contemporany routines of tonight's show. Tatyana is joined on stage by four dancers and two backing vocalists supporting her stage act. The vocal performance is at a decent level, but nothing impressive here.

Song 16 – Ivan Berezovskiy – Ave Maria

Next on stage is Ivan Berezovskiy performing a classical song called Ave Maria. This song is performed in Italian and it is standing out of the crowd due to the special manner of performance provided by Ivan. A group of backing vocalists dressed in black outfits join the main singer on stage. Will Ukraine send a classical song to the Eurovision Song Contest this year?

Song 17 – Zaklopky – Superhero (Uh-la-la)

Next on stage is a very popular Ukrainian band , Zaklopky. They perform an up-tempo contemporany electro-pop entitled Superhero. The girls are dressed in full length gala dresses. The vocal performance is mediocre and this shouldn't have qualified from the semi final stages of the competition. Overall, a weak performance.

Song 18 – Vladislav Levitskiy – Love

Next on stage is Vladislav Levitskiy performing an up-tempo pop song which sounds very radiofriendly by the way. He is joined on stage by three backing vocalists and two instrumentalists. The vocal performance is at a decent level. Will this pop number impress the audience and the jury? We don't think so.

Song 19 – Anastasyia Prikhodko – Action

The final performance of tonight's show is next. Anastasya delivers the most powerful vocal performance of the Ukrainian national final. She was joined by two backing vocalists on stage. Although, she is the biggest favourite to win this selection, Anastasyia's routine seemed to be lacking something. This concludes the performances of tonight's show.
