The winner of the Latvian Junior Eurovision Song Contest is chosen. Dzintars Cica, the youngest of ten finalists, and his song Tu esi vasara (You are in summer) received the most of televotes.
Latvian Broadcaster (LTV) received 54 songs of which 10 were selected to the National Final of Junior Eurovision. Last night LTV held a show hosted by Linda Leen and Horens Stalbe (both have participated in the National Final Eirodziesma 2002).
In the first part of live broadcast 10 final songs were performed. During the break the telephone lines were open for 15 minutes for voting. F.L.Y (Latvian representatives in ESC 2003) singing Hello From Mars and 7 days introduced the second part of the show.
Dzintars Cica's (he is 10) winning song Tu esi vasara received 11,993 televotes while the runner up Mana sirds (My heart) performed by Miks Dukurs had 4,610 votes.
Aivars Auzins, the Executive Producer of Junior ESC Latvia, said: “I am really impressed by the children's willingness to participate in the contest. I hope that we will show our best on November 15 in Denmark.”
