Raphael Gualazzi will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song Follia d'amore. Gualazii won the juries' confidence as well as the tele voting of the 61st edition of the famous San Remo Festival.

Italy is one of the automatically qualified five countries in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. This year their national broadcaster (RAI) decided to come back to the Eurovision family as they left the competition in 1997 when Jalisse's Fiumi di parole scored a respectable 4th placing in Ireland.

Raphael Gualazzi was selected by a special jury consisting in Gianni Morandi, Mauro Mazza, Massimo Liofredi, Mark Simeon, Maurizio Zoccarato and George Giuffra. The singer will represent Italy at this year's Eurovision Song Contest with Follia d'amore a jazz song written by himself.
