Are you ready for the second Mamma Mia! movie to be released this week? Singer-actress Cher sure is, with the movie star revealing that she is set to release an all-ABBA cover album following the release of the film sequel on Friday!

One of the most highly anticipated films of the year, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, is set to be released at the end of this week, with more big ABBA hits to star in the Swedish band-themed film (and we’re definitely not complaining).

One singer and actress set to feature in the sequel is superstar Cher, whose version of ABBA’s Fernando is going to appear on the film’s official soundtrack. But that’s not the only ABBA track that Cher has covered!

Cher’s take on ABBA hits

Speaking on the Today Show about her upcoming cover album, Cher revealed:

After I did Fernando [in the film], I thought it would be fun to do an album of Abba songs, so I did! It’s not what you think of when you think Abba, because I did it in a different way.

Cher promise a unique experience with her own version of ABBA’s biggest released, however no further details about the potential album release date have been revealed.

Have you heard Cher’s version of Fernando? Check it out ahead of Friday’s film release!

Cher’s latest discussed album would be her most recent since the release of the dance-inspired album back in 2013, Closer to the truth, with the American artist more recently focussing on her show in Las Vegas in recent years.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again will be released on Friday 20 July in cinemas. Can’t wait until then? Listen to the soundtrack of the newest film.
