The exciting (and somewhat long-running) FIFA World Cup 2018 has come to an end, with the last match setting the whole of the continent alight with a strong European final. France earned their second ever victory at the sporting event, with many Eurostars from across the winning country celebrating following the impressive French win.

32 → 16 → 8 → 4 → 2 → 1: This was the shortlisting process during the FIFA World Cup 2018, which eventually saw an all-European semi-final round in the biggest footballing event in the world.

With France and Croatia advancing to the final of the cup, it was France’s time to shine with a 4-2 victory, therefore earning their second victory at the World Cup, the last time being 20 years ago.

One fun fact is that both times France has won the World Cup has been the same years that Israel have won the Eurovision Song Contest… coincidence?

Eurostars celebrate French victory!

Ahead of today’s World Cup final, a number of French Eurostars posted their excitement via their social media just before the big match, including Natacha St-Pier (2001), Anggun (2012), Amir (2016) and Madame Monsieur (2018).

But how did the stars celebrate once their 4-2 win was confirmed? Stars celebrated at a number of places; at home, at events, abroad, wherever possible! Here’s how some of the stars reacted.

Madame Monsieur expressed their pride through Twitter, making a joke at the number of babies expected to be born in 9 months’ time! “Long live France, long live the blues!”.

2017’s Alma was out and about to celebrate her country’s win, carrying the flag in the French capital of France. “Magnificent”, said the French artist!

Amir celebrated indoors with a big group of friends. It’s fair to say that the former French representative was very happy with the World Cup results!

Throwback to 2013 and Amandine Bourgeois, with the French singer congratulating the French football team with a very fitting filter.

And finally, France’s 2011 representative, Amaury Vassili took to the northern part of France in Rouen in order to celebrate the country’s football victory in style! The singer even sported some patriotic face paint for the occasion.

Once again, congratulations to France for their win and congratulations to Croatia for reaching their first ever FIFA World Cup final!
