Georgian national broadcaster GPB has announced that there will be an open selection in order to choose their 2011 Eurovision representative. Singers and composers are all invited to submit their applications in order to compete for the golden ticket to Düsseldorf. The national final will be held in mid February.

After internally selecting Sofia Nizharadze for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, the Georgian public broadcaster GPBhas decided to conduct an open selection again this year. Singers and songwriters are asked to send in their songs, the lyrics of which need to be either in Georgian or in English language, until the 5th of February. Both the authors and the singers have to be Georgian citizens to be eligible. The Georgian national selection is scheduled to take place inmid-February.

Georgiawill participate at the First Semi-Final of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, scheduled to be held on the 10th of May in Düsseldorf. Georgia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 with Sopho in Helsinki.
