The Bulgarian National Television (BNT) have announced the official rules of their national selection for this year's Eurovision Song Contest. The novelty is that a special panel consisting of professionals involved in the music industry of the Northern Balkan country will select the participating entries. Also, is has been announced that the national final will take place on February 23rd.

BNT have decided to change the rules of Bulgaria's national selection for this year's Eurovision Song Contest. A special panel consisting of 31 members elected by the national television will select the participating artists that will try to win the Bulgarian ticket toDüsseldorf.

No international performers or songwriters are allowed to take part in the national selection of the Northern Balkan country. The participating singers and composers must have Bulgarian citizenship and their submitted songs have to be written only in the national language.

An internal voting will take place between the members of the special elected jury that will determine the ten performers that will advance to the national final. The ultimate winner of the selection will be chosen by a combination of jury and tele voting. The selection show is expected to take place on February 23rd

Last year's Bulgarian Eurovision hopeful, Miro, didn't scored enough points in order to qualify for the final. His self penned song entitled Angel si ti finished on the 15th place of the second semi final.
