The Spanish Eurovision Association (Asociación Cultural de Eurovisivos de España, AEV) will be holding its annual congress this weekend in London. This will be the first time in 19 years, the meeting is being held outside Spain and the Spanish fan club are expending an invitation to British Eurovision fans to join their activities.
From the 3rd to the 7th of December the Spanish Eurofan community will meet in the United Kingdom capital to take part in special Eurovision Festival activities that will include several days filled with music, friendship and fun. The members' reception will be on Friday, December 3 from 20:00, to coincide with the Ukeurovision SchlagerParty at the Loom Bar.
The congress will begin on Saturday, December 4rd, at 14:00 at the Hotel Hesperia London Victoria. Numerous activities are scheduled, including a round table on the procedure TVE has announced for electing the 2011 representative, the latest results of the Spanish participants, the incoming Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Düsseldorf. There will be also time for other activities such as contests, video presentations and interview with special guests. The traditional association gala dinner will also be held at the Hotel Hesperia London Victoria at 20:30. That will be followed with a party featuring Eurovision's greatest dance hits.
On Sunday, December 5th, the Annual General Meeting will start at 14:00. During the event fans will have an opportunity to watch again the 1968 Eurovision Song Contest held in London, when Spain won the contest for the very first time. Later on the same evening at 20.00 pm, AEV have arranged a party in the Escape Bar in the London West End, where the Glittershow, a fan tribute act will perform two shows, one focused on past UK songs and the other dedicated to the 2010 Eurovision songs. The party will be continued in the same club until the very end of the night.
On Monday, the AEV will visit the Royal Albert Hall, where Massiel won the Eurovision Song Contest 42 years ago with her song La la la. Another party will following on Monday night, where AEV will meet again in the Escape Bar to sing the karaoke versions ot past Eurovision hits.
