The internet selection of the Swiss pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 has closed the deadline to submit songs. Online voting has started today at 12:00 CET.
The Swiss selection has attracted this year various artists from different countries. In total there are 325 songs submitted. Several Euro-artists have sent their entries: Mariella Farré (Switzerland 1983 & 1985), DQ (Denmark 2007), Todomondo (Romania 2007), Miodio (San Marino 2008), Piero Esteriore (Switzerland 2004).
Among these Eurovision-artists there are few other popular singers in this contest. One of them is the South African artist Nadine and the hugely popular Albanian singer Genta Ismajli.
On October 30th, SF, the Swiss broadcaster has closed the deadline to submit entries and has opened today the online voting at12:00 CET. During ten days everyone has the opportunity to vote for their favourite songs. To vote for your favourites you need a user account with SF. You have four votes to cast. You can vote for one song four times, or you can divide your four votes as you wish between the songs you like most. Meanwhile, a group of experts will listen to the songs and will get a stake of 50% of the total votes.
The entries that have qualified for thenatioal final will be announced after mid-November. These songs will be presented on television, on December 11th, where the winner will be decided by televoting. The winning song will represent Switzerland at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Germany.
