The website eurovisiondream.com, run by Turkish Eurovision fans, have launched an online petition to persuade TRT to hold a national final instead of the internal method used for a decade now. They aim to reach 10,000 signatures in two weeks.
Organisers claim that, in spite of the "success" brought by internal selections "7 times in a row in the first decade of this millenium", they "are tired of this internal system" and "want to celebrate too a national final" as other European broadcasters do. Their aim is to go "beyond the Turkish borders" and reach other publics to recognise this issue as they "have waited for so long for a decent NF in Turkey".
