Mira Awad, half the duo who represented Israel at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, has been signed on a three years contract with the Spanish branch of Sony Records.
Mira Awad is expected soon to move to Spain, in order to start working with her new record label Sony Records. According to the new contract, Sony Records is obligated to produce and distribute three international albums by Mira Awad. In these future albums, which the first one will be released during 2011, Awad will sing in English and Spanish. "It is definitely a peak in my career. A contract in such a major record label is an achievement", says Awad to Walla.co.il.
Mira Awad does not forget to thank her close friend and duo partner Noa. "She was the one who gave me the opportunity for to breakthrough". Awad also gives credit to the Eurovision Song Contest, in which she and Noa represented Israel, back in 2009. "The contest was a wonderful platform to perform with our music. This is a perfect example of how the Eurovision Song Contest can open doors for you, even if you don't win it".
Mira Awad and Noa sang "There must be another way", for Israel in Moscow 2009 and reached the 16th place in the final.
