Tonight it’s Montenegro’s turn to select its Eurovision act and entry for Lisbon. Hold your horses as we’re travelling to the Balkans tonight for the 2018 Montenegrin national final, Montevizija.

Montenegrin national broadcaster RTCG, has opted to bring back its national final in order to determine its Eurovision entry and act for Lisbon.

A total of 5 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Lisbon during tonight’s show.

About the show

The 2018 Montenegrin national final will be held at the Podgorica Hilton Hotel in Podgorica. The 2018 Montenegrin entry will be determined via a 100% public televoting deliberation. The show will be 2 hours long.

Slavko Kalezić, the 2017 Montenegrin representative will a special guest at the show and will perform 2 songs: the 2017 Montenegrin Eurovision entry Space and his new single El ritmo.

Knez (Montenegro 2015) will be also gracing the ocassion and treating the viewers with his performance. The 2018 Albanian Eurovision representative Eugen Bušpepa has been invited to the show as a special guest.

Montenegro in Eurovision

Montenegro debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 as a solo country and is yet to win the competition. The country has only made it twice to the Grand Final (2014 & 2015), whilst its best result to date is a 13th place achieved by Knez in Vienna.

In 2017, Slavko Kalezić was selected via an internal selection by the Montenegrin broadcaster to fly to Kyiv. He represented his homeland with  Space; despite a catchy performance he failed to qualify to the Grand Final.

Montenegro will compete in the Second- Semi-final of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest on 10 May in Lisbon.
