Last night the Oslo City Hall hosted the official Welcome Party, in order to welcome all the participating countries along with their delegations and artists. The evening was a spectacular event, showcasing the best of Norwegian hospitality and portraying the esssence of Norway. A pink carpet was set up in order to welcome all the delegations along with their artists instead of the traditional red, to match the colourr scheme of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest as Oslo shared the moment that the competition officially opened.

Alexander Rybak performed for the gueststwo of his songs European Skies and his Eurovision Song Contest winning entry from 2009,Fairytale, during the night. All the participating artists were dressed in fine evening wear andGuests from many countries got the chance to mix and mingle with the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest candidates. 1985 winners, Bobbysocks performed their winning hit La det swinge accompanied by the Oslo mens' choir

The venue of the Welcome Party was Oslo City Hall, home to the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony every year. Guests to savour traditional Norwegian snacks at the party. NRK and the Norwegian City Hall organized an elegant and chic event in order to gather all the guests under the same roof to Share The Moment!
