Czech Republic: Winner of the jury vote for 2018 national final revealed

The Czech national broadcaster has just revealed the winner of the jury votes of the 6 competing national final songs, who will be competing for the right to represent the Czech Republic at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.

Yesterday saw CT, the Czech national broadcaster, confirming the names of the 10-member jury panel for the country’s upcoming national final: Eurovision Song CZ.

All 10 members of the international jury, who will determine a total of 50% of the final Czech result, are former Eurovision participants, many of which have competed in the 2016 and 2017 edition of the European competition.

Following the closure of the jury vote, CT confirmed the name of the act which received the highest amount of votes from the panel. The winner of the jury vote was revealed in a live video, hosted on the official Eurovision Song Contest Czech Republic Facebook page.

Until now, we only know the winner of the jury vote, and that is Mikolas Josef who won 50% of the vote with his entry Lie to me, receiving a total of 68 points. As of today, the remaining jury votes have not been revealed. The remaining votes are expected to be revealed in due course.

Votes from the international jury were allocated as follows:

  • First place: 8 points
  • Second place: 6 points
  • Third place: 4 points
  • Fourth place: 3 points
  • Fifth place: 2 points
  • Sixth place: 1 point

Mikolas Josef won the international jury vote of the Czech national final for 2018

The winner of Eurovision Song CZ will be unveiled next Monday on the 29 January, in which the remaining 50% of the Czech vote will be determined by a public vote.

The winner will go on to represent the Czech Republic at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in the host city of Lisbon.
