As we reported yesterday already, the UK hopeful at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, Josh Dubovie, will do a promo tour in preparation for Oslo. Today we can reveal that Josh is taking part at Eurovision in Concert, the Dutch promo event which takes place next Saturday, April 24. The event has an impressive line up of 18 acts now.
Cheese, windmills and tulips
The municipality of Zaanstad, part of the metropolitan area of Amsterdam, will be the host city of the second edition of Eurovision in Concert. All delegations will be welcomed at the Zaans Museum by the mayor of Zaandam, Miss Geke Faber. Right after, all participating artists will be offered a guided tour through theZaanse Schans, which can be considered as a colourful living and working area. Here all delegationswill visitsome traditionalDutch workshops like a wooden shoe workshop, a pewter foundry and a cheese farm. The surrounding landscape, with picturesque Dutch houses,windmills and tulip fields,will make the tour 'Dutcher than Dutch'.
Eurovision in Concert
Later that night, the concert will take place at Lexion, one of the most modern party venues in the area of Zaanstad and located in one of its municipals, Westzaan. Fans will be able to make use of special shuttle buses to be brought back from the venue to Amsterdam after the show. The concert will be hosted by the 1987 Dutch representative Marga Bult and the Dutch commentator at the Eurovision Song Contest, Cornald Maas. Marga Bult will open the show by performing her 1987 Eurovision entry Rechtop in de wind.The Dutch singeralready revealed thatshe will wear her original Eurovision dress for this special occasion. Several artists have confirmed already to sing 2 songs during the concert: their 2010 Eurovision entry and a real Eurovision classic. The afterparty will be hosted by GermanDJ Ohrmeister, a well known Eurovision DJ.
Huge media interest
Just like last year's edition, the interest from the media for the event is impressive. More than 125 press accreditations have been granted already. Paul Roos, on behalf of the organisation: There will be camera crews fromseveral countrieslike Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Ukraineand Bulgaria for example. Besides that, the event will be covered by several newspapers andthe big websites like esctoday.com and eurovision.tv
