The song

Angel si ti is an up-tempo pop song with electronic influences. Through the lyrics, the singer tells someone to stay the same using the metaphore of an angel he compares the person to:

 еб е кла
аие а завоени
ад живее ангел кила

нгел и и, не вва ли
нгел п и педказва
нгел и и, забави ли
бова и го доказва

The key is inside of you
The doors are closed
Behind them, there lives an angel with wings

You are an angel, don't you think so?
An angel presages your path
You are an angel, do you remember?
Love proves it

The performer and songwriter

Miro, whose full name is Miroslav Kostadinov, started his career as a contestant at various music festivals inside and outside Bulgaria and he is said to have won no less than eleven awards between 1994 and 1999. However, he became famous as one half of the pop duo KariZma (аиZма) along with Galina Kurdova. They had already released various hit singles in Bulgaria when their debut album Eklisiast (клииа) was released in 2006. The year after, they competed in the Bulgarian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest finishing second with Fool for you.

In 2007, Miro returned to performing solo. His debut album Omirotvoren spawned three number one singles. He has won five BG radio music awards and two Planeta TV awards so far but has also won various other awards including the one for Best dressed man in Bulgaria. Among his most popular and famous songs are Gubya kontrol, kogato (б конол, когао) and Zavinagi (авинаги), a duet with folk singer Anelia.

Miro was internally chosen to represent Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. In the national final, he presented five different songs eventually winning with his own composition Angel si ti.

The national selection

An internal jury of about 50 people chose Miro internally to represent Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest ahead of 2008 national final contestant Poli Genova and Nora. In the national final, he sang five songs which had previously been presented in a special show and had gone on heavy rotation on Bulgarian radio channels. The televoters eventually chose the song Angel si ti.

Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest

Bulgaria debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005. After unsuccessful attempts in the first two years, Bulgaria made it to the final in 2007 and finished fifth overall. However, it was the country's only appearance in the final to date.
