After problems with the Eurovision commentators during last year's Eurovision Song Contest, broadcaster France 3 selected two new commentators for Riga. Last year several broadcasters complained about the jokes made by the commentators.
TV producer Laurent Ruquier together with one of his colleagues, Isabelle Mergault, has a daily television programme on the other public channel France 2.
According to some it could bring a lot of people to watch this year's contest due to their appearance.
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) brought out a number of rules for commentators, for example it's not permitted to humiliate performers. It seems the EBU wants to avoid any scandals around the commentators.
