Cyprus: The fuzzy, warm feeling of Jon Lilygreen

by Stella Floras 167 views

Jon Lilygreen comes from Wales and this year he represents Cyprus in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. We met with him in Athens where he was invited as a special guest in the Greek final and he spoke to us about everything .

He went up against all odds taking part in the Cyrpiot final never thinking he would make it. But he did and now he feels he owes the Cyrpriot public to do his best to justify their trust. Jon Liligreen is not in this business for the fame, he says. He loves to sing and play his acoustic guitar and he wants people to get a fuzzy warm feeling from his music.

Among other things, Jon tells us all about how Life looks better in spring came about when it was sent to his dad's recording studio in a very basic form.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
