Israel: Six more artists advance in The Next Star

The fifth show of Israel’s The Next Star competition took place this evening, in which the next group of performers auditioned for a place in the following section of the selection.

Tonight saw a total of 8 artists competing in The Next Star, performing for both the votes of the studio audience as well as the 4 judging members.

Each judge made up of by the members Static & Ben-El Tavori, Keren Peles, Harel Skaat and Assaf Amdursky, had a 10% vote in the final outcome of each performance, with each auditionee needing to receive at least 70% of the ‘Yes’ vote in order to proceed in the competition.

Tonight, again 8 participants performed for a place in the next stage of The Next Star. However, only six of them got a ticket to the next round and 2 did not qualify.

  • Ofir Harush (84%, ’Yes’ from all 4 judges)
  • Yanir Chmiel (76%, ’Yes’ from 3 judges)
  • Orel Gilad (71%, ‘Yes’ from 3 judges)
  • Tal Mizrahi (85%, ‘Yes’ from all 4 judges)
  • Hezi Katri (86%, ‘Yes’ from all 4 judges)
  • Liat Banay (86%, ‘Yes’ from all 4 judges)

Unfortunately, Omen and Regina Fedorenko did not get the chance to proceed to the next round.

One of the most talked-about performances of the evening came from the final auditionee, Liat Banay, receiving high praise from both the audience and the 4-member judging panel.
