After weeks of speculations, it seems that Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS is finally preparing to reveal the Dutch Eurovision 2018 participant, as a mysterious video of the artist was released. Big question: is it Waylon?
Maan, Romy Monteiro, Shirma Rouse, Sharon Doorson, Sharon den Adel… for weeks it was the females that dominated the Dutch Eurovision 2018 rumour mill.
Yet Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS seems to have seemingly chosen a very different candidate to represent the Netherlands at Eurovision 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal: this morning, they released a mysterious video, following what appears to be a male artist waking up after a hard night’s work, titled Guess Who…
Waylon?
Judging from the clues in the video, including the reference to the popular TV-show The Voice Of Holland (in which he’s a coach) and the hat from Calm after the storm by The Common Linnets (Eurovision 2014), the Dutch representative could be none other than singer Waylon!
If it’s Waylon, don’t expect him to follow the country melodies of his days with The Common Linnets, as he also performs rock and soul music.
AVROTROS will most likely confirm the artist soon.
