AMPTV, the Armenian national broadcaster has revealed its mechanism and plans for the forthcoming 2018 Eurovision  Song Contest.

Earlier today, AMTPV confirmed to ESCToday Armenia’s participation at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.

AMPTV will opt for a national selection yet again in order to select its Eurovision act and entry for Lisbon. Depi Evratesil will be back for the second consecutive year.

The Armenian broadcaster plans to broadcast 4 lives shows in its quest to select the 2018 Armenian Eurovision act and entry. Artists wishing to participate in the 2018 Armenian national selection can submit their application in the following link: Depi Evratesil Application Form.

Depi Evratesil’s submission window is open until 15 December 2017.

The winner of Depi Evratesil will represent Armenia in the international Eurovision 2018 Song Contest. The Public TV Company is now accepting the applications from the participants of the new season of Depi Evratesil.

In this season, the singers will be able to perform their own songs and take the song to Eurovision 2018 in case of winning. The song must be written specially for the project or not performed before.

Armenia in Eurovision

Armenia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens in 2006 and is yet to win the competition. Sirusho and Aram Mp3 retain the country’s best results to date, both having achieved a 4th place in the Grand Final respectively in 2008 and 2014.

In 2017, Armenia opted for a national selection Depi Evratesil in order to select its Eurovision act and entry for Kyiv. Artsvik won the Armenian national final and flew to Kyiv with Fly with me, where she placed 18th in the Grand Final.

The 2018 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 8, 10 and 12 May in Lisbon, Portugal.
