On February 2nd, Romanian broadcaster TVR chose their Eurovision mascot out of over 300 porposals submitted by Eurovision fans aging from 7 to 64 years old from all over the country. They competed not only for winning the 500 euro prize, but also for having their own creation as a part of the Romanian Eurovision team.
After several debates lasting for hours, Eurofairy was declared the winner of the contest. The artwork has been created by Carmen Dumitrescu Stefania, a 50 year old architect fromBucharest. The mascot will suffer small improvements and will become a member of theRomanian team for Eurovision 2010.
Meanwhile, these days the 16 finalists are filming the videoclips that willverysoon be made available on tv and online until the 6th of March, the day when the national final is scheduled to take place.
