The Belarussian entrant to the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 will be selected internally by the national broadcaster and EBU member BTRC. It is expected that the name of the nominee will be made public by late February or early March.
In a press conference held today in Minsk, Belarussian Head of Delegation, Alexander Martynenko, has announced that the choice of the artist to represent the country in Oslo will be made by an internal jury or music proffesionals. The final decision is expected to take place by late February or early March.
Controversy arose some months ago when the national television and only EBU member in the country BTRC handed over the rights to carry out the selection for Eurovision 2010 to ONT. Initially, the project Musical Court was intended to choose the Belarussian representative for Oslo, but the system changed when the station saw that their EBU membership application was very likely to be rejected.
