LIVE

The show has just started!

Tonight's hosts Eva María Jónsdóttir and Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir welcome the audience and explain the procedure of tonight's show.

1. Íris HólmThe one

Current esctoday.com poll result: 1st (29.7%)

A gentle ballad. The protagonist is mourning the loss of the love of her life to another woman. Typically for such songs, Iris is alone on stage, delivering a solid vocal performance.

2. Matthias Matthiasson Out of sight

Current esctoday.com poll result: 5th (8.9%)

Matthias is casually dressed in black, performing with a guitar and accompanied by two dancers, two instrumentalists and one backing vocalist. Matthias performs his country-rock song quite well and definitely stands out from tonight's show due to his song song's genre. However, he probably doesn't have the chances to make it to Oslo.

3. Sigurjón BrinkYou knocked on my door

Current esctoday.com poll result: 4th (13.9%)

Sigurjón is dressed in a black suit, three backing vocalists and a piano player join him on stage. His vocals are very good, too, but can't hide the fact that his song is quite mediocre and barely enough to succeed at Eurovision.

4. Kolbrún Eva ViktorsdóttirYou are the one

Current esctoday.com poll result: 2nd (27.2%)

Kolbrún is joined on stage by four backing vocals dressed in black. She performs in a yellow dress, making her the centre of attention. Her song is the third and final ballad of tonight's show, a mellow and dreamy love song. Her voice might be a bit reminiscent of Avril Lavigne, when she sings ballads.

5. Karen PálsdóttirIn the future

Current esctoday.com poll result: 3rd (20.3%)

Karen, whose singing teacher is the 2008 Icelandic Eurovision representative Regína Ósk, is tonight's final performer. She performs in a tight and shot grey dress, typical for those kind of songs. Her song is slightly repetative, yet it stands out due to the fact that the majority of songs are ballads. However, Karen seems to have big vocal problems at some parts. She is supported by two backing vocals and two dancers.

This concludes the performances. Our poll will be closed in five minutes.

Before announcing the votes, a short flashback of Yohanna's sensational Eurovision journey is being shown and now, Yohanna herself graces the semi final, being interviewed by the two hosts. Various Youtube videos of people singing Is it true are being shown, proving the popularity of Yohanna's song.

Now, Íngo, who took 2nd place at last year's Icelandic national final, joins Yohanna on stage. Together, they are looking back at the moment before the results were being announced, both anxiously awaiting the final outcome.

Yohanna and Íngo are performing some acoustic duetts, only accompanied by Íngo's guitar. They perform Bob Dylan's It ain't me and the 2000 Icelandic Eurovision Song Contest entry Tell me!.

Matthias Matthiasson has qualified for the final. Íris Hólm has qualified for the final.
