2009 Spanish Eurovision Song Contest representative Soraya has been honoured in her hometown Valencia de Alcantarra for her hard work and successful career. She has been been named Honourable Daughter of the City for showcasing and putting her homewtown on the map. The mayor of Valencia de Alcantarra, Mr. Luis Candido Moreno awarded the Spanish singer with a special plaque and thanked her for being an ambassador for her hometown.

Soraya represented Spain at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest with the song La noche es para mi. Despite achieving a poor result in Moscow the Spanish singer has gained more popularity and fame on home soil. She has had a very busy schedule since her return from Moscow.

Soraya has been honoured in her hometown Valencia de Alcantarra and has received a special award for her work and career. She said she was happy and honoured to received the award and was very grateful to everyone for their support.
